The Nikon camera D700

The Nikon camera D700 is essentially a shrunk down D3 with the body of a D300 which makes it a compact SLR with features that professional photographers look for in their equipment.  It has been introduced in the market segment to compete with the Sony DSLR-A900 and with Canon EOS 5D Mark II.

The D700 shares the FX-format with the other Nikon camera in the D series and the same processing engine producing an output that is essentialy identical.  The main differences between the D3 and the D700 are physical, the D700 being smaller.
